In short: FTP Courses is an independent education provider; not affiliated with or endorsed by any regulator. Our courses are CPD-aligned learning with a certificate of completion stating the estimated learning time. They do not guarantee any outcome, and our guides are general information, not legal or clinical advice. All our content is written in-house and protected by copyright.
1. Who we are
This website, ftpcourses.co.uk, is operated under the trading name FTP Courses (“we”, “us”, “our”). The legal entity, registered details and full contract terms are set out in our Terms & Conditions. You can contact us at info@ftpcourses.co.uk or through our contact page.
We write and sell self-paced online learning on ethics, probity, professionalism, communication, insight, reflection and remediation for people who work in UK healthcare and social care. This disclaimer explains what our courses and guides are, what they are not, and the rights and responsibilities that apply when you use this website.
2. Independent provider: no regulator affiliation
FTP Courses is independent. We are not part of, affiliated with, sponsored by, approved by or endorsed by any professional regulator, tribunal service or government body. That includes the General Medical Council (GMC), the Medical Practitioners Tribunal Service (MPTS), the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC), the General Dental Council (GDC), the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC), the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), the General Optical Council (GOC), the General Osteopathic Council (GOsC), the General Chiropractic Council (GCC), Social Work England, the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC), Social Care Wales, the Northern Ireland Social Care Council (NISCC), the Pharmaceutical Society of Northern Ireland (PSNI) and the Professional Standards Authority.
UK regulators do not approve, accredit or endorse course providers, and none of them publishes a list of courses it will accept. Where we name a regulator, quote its standards or link to its website, we do so to help you find and understand the regulator’s own guidance. Regulators’ names and logos belong to them. Always check the current version of any standard on the regulator’s own website.
3. What “CPD-aligned” means
We describe our courses as CPD-aligned. By that we mean that each course:
- is structured continuing professional development learning with stated learning outcomes;
- is mapped to the published standards of the relevant UK regulator or regulators;
- includes reflective prompts and an end-of-course assessment; and
- issues a certificate of completion that records the course title, your name, the completion date and the estimated learning time.
“CPD-aligned” does not mean that a regulator, a royal college or any CPD body has approved, accredited or endorsed the course. Our courses are not formal qualifications. The estimated learning time is our honest estimate of how long a typical learner needs; you should record the time you actually spend, and a reflection on what you learned, in line with your own regulator’s CPD or revalidation rules. Whether a piece of learning counts towards a particular CPD scheme is decided under that scheme’s rules, not by us.
4. No guarantee of any outcome
Many of our learners are responding to a concern, complaint or investigation. Learning that is relevant to the concern, followed by honest reflection and real changes to practice, is something regulators commonly consider. But we cannot and do not promise any result. Completing a course, or many courses, does not guarantee that a case will be closed, that a sanction will be avoided or reduced, that a review will succeed, or that you will keep or obtain any job, registration, licence or revalidation.
We do not claim that regulators, case examiners, panels, tribunals, employers, defence organisations or solicitors accept or recommend our certificates. You and your adviser decide whether to include any learning in a response; the regulator or panel decides what weight it carries.
5. Educational information, not legal or clinical advice
Our courses, guides, articles, emails and other materials are general educational information about UK professional standards and regulatory processes. They are not legal advice, clinical advice or advice about your individual circumstances, and they do not create a solicitor–client, adviser–client or clinician–patient relationship.
Regulatory processes, standards, statistics and law change. We check our content against the regulators’ published guidance and date our updates, but we cannot guarantee that every page reflects the very latest position on the day you read it. If you are facing a concern, please speak to your medical, dental or professional defence organisation, your union or professional body, or a solicitor who specialises in professional regulation, before you respond. Never delay seeking advice because of something you have read on this website.
6. Who writes our content
All course and website content is written in-house by FTP Courses from the regulators’ published standards and guidance and is reviewed by our expert team before publication and whenever the guidance changes. Pages are labelled “Reviewed by our Expert Team”. We do not present named individuals as authors or facilitators, and we do not use invented testimonials, ratings, learner numbers or credentials.
7. Originality guarantee and copyright
We guarantee that our course materials and guides are our own original work. Content is written in-house, checked for plagiarism before publication, and does not reproduce other providers’ course materials. Where we quote or summarise a regulator’s standards, we do so briefly, with attribution, for the purpose of explanation, and we link to the original.
© 2026 FTP Courses. All rights reserved. The text, course content, assessments, reflective exercises, graphics, layout and compilation of this website are protected by copyright under the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988 and by database rights. If you believe any content on our site infringes your rights, please email info@ftpcourses.co.uk with details and we will investigate promptly.
8. Intellectual property and anti-copying terms
When you buy a course you receive a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive licence to access it for your own learning. You must not:
- share your login, or allow anyone else to access a course you bought;
- copy, download, record, screenshot, scrape, print or otherwise reproduce course content beyond what is reasonably needed for your own personal study notes;
- republish, sell, distribute, adapt or use our content to create competing courses or materials, including by using it to train or prompt automated systems; or
- remove or obscure copyright notices or any identifying marks on course pages or certificates.
Course pages may carry a discreet watermark linked to your account so that unauthorised copies can be traced. We may suspend access, without refund, where we have reasonable grounds to believe these terms have been broken, and we reserve the right to take legal action to protect our work. Technical measures can deter copying but cannot prevent every determined attempt, so these contractual terms apply in all cases.
9. Fake reports, impersonation and how to verify us
Unfortunately, independent providers are sometimes targeted by false reviews, misleading “reports” or websites that copy or imitate them. To be clear:
- Our only website is ftpcourses.co.uk. We are not connected with any other business using a similar name or domain, including websites ending in .com.
- Our emails come only from addresses ending @ftpcourses.co.uk. We will never ask you for your password or full card details by email, text or phone.
- Payments are taken only through the secure checkout on ftpcourses.co.uk.
- We do not publish testimonials, ratings or learner statistics on this site.
If you see a site, profile, advert, review or document that misuses our name, copies our content or makes claims about us that you think are false, please email info@ftpcourses.co.uk with a link or screenshot. We investigate every report and will correct genuine errors on our side. Reports of fraud can also be made to Action Fraud, and misleading advertising to the Advertising Standards Authority.
10. Your personal data (UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018)
We process personal data in line with the UK General Data Protection Regulation and the Data Protection Act 2018. We use your data to provide the courses you buy, run your account, issue certificates, take payments, answer enquiries and meet our legal obligations. We do not sell your data. You have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict and port your data, and to object to some uses of it; you can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk). Full details are in our Privacy Policy.
11. Cookies (PECR)
Under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 (PECR), we only set non-essential cookies with your consent. Essential cookies run the basket, checkout, login and course access. Analytics (Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity) and marketing-attribution cookies are only used if you click “Accept analytics” in our cookie banner; we use Google Consent Mode so Google tags respect your choice. You can change your mind at any time using the “Cookie settings” link at the foot of every page.
12. Buying a course: your consumer rights
Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013. Our courses are digital content. You normally have 14 days from purchase to cancel. Because access is given immediately, the right to cancel ends once you begin the course, provided you agreed to immediate access and acknowledged this when you bought it (we ask you to confirm this at checkout). If you have not started a course, you can cancel within 14 days for a refund by emailing us.
Consumer Rights Act 2015. Digital content you buy from us must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described. If it is faulty, you are entitled to a repair or replacement and, if that is not possible or does not fix the problem, a price reduction or refund. If faulty digital content damages your device or other digital content, you may be entitled to a remedy. Nothing in this disclaimer or our Terms limits these statutory rights.
13. Accessibility and the Equality Act 2010
We want our website and courses to be usable by everyone and we design them with the Equality Act 2010 and the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.2, level AA) in mind. Courses work on phones, tablets and computers and with common assistive technologies. If anything on our site is hard for you to use, or you need a reasonable adjustment, such as more time for an assessment or content in another format, please email info@ftpcourses.co.uk and we will do our best to help.
14. Limitation of liability
We take care to make our content accurate and useful. Except where the law does not allow us to limit liability, we are not responsible for decisions made by regulators, panels, employers or others, or for losses arising from reliance on general information on this site instead of taking advice about your circumstances. Nothing in this disclaimer excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under the law of England and Wales. Our Terms & Conditions set out the other limits that apply.
15. Links to other websites
We link to regulators, government bodies, professional bodies and other organisations so you can read their guidance first-hand. We are not responsible for the content of external sites, and a link does not mean that the other organisation endorses us or that we endorse it.
16. Complaints
If you are unhappy with a course or our service, please email info@ftpcourses.co.uk with your name, order number and a description of the problem. We will acknowledge your complaint within five working days and aim to send a full response within 14 days. If you are not satisfied, you can get free guidance on your consumer rights from Citizens Advice. For data protection complaints, you can contact the Information Commissioner’s Office.
17. Governing law
This disclaimer, and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with it or your use of this website, is governed by the law of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction, but if you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland you may also bring proceedings in your home courts, and you keep the protection of any mandatory consumer law that applies where you live.
18. Changes to this disclaimer
We may update this disclaimer when our services or the law change. The date at the top shows when it was last updated. The version published on this page when you use the site applies.
